“To Be Beautiful, You Have To Be Yourself”

Kids Wanna Help® holds a Fashion Show and pre-Fashion Show workshop each year. The Fashion Show is an event for the whole family to enjoy and includes a spectacular silent auction. The 3rd – 8th grade girls who participate in the Fashion Show raise money to help children who have leukemia.  The money raised is donated to the J.L. Foundation and distributed to the families of leukemia patients to cover costs associated with treatment that are not covered by insurance.  Because the J.L. Foundation is run by volunteers and has no overhead, 100% of what we donate to the J.L. Foundation directly impacts the families who need it.

The “To Be Beautiful You Have To Be Yourself” Workshop is held before the Fashion Show. This Workshop is designed to help encourage confidence and self-esteem and foster a lifetime of social responsibility.  It offers guidance on a variety of beauty topics, advice on resisting negative peer pressure and why giving back to the community is so important. It is also a great opportunity to meet new friends.

Workshop Topics:  Modeling Skills. Modesty is Fashionable. Health, Fitness and Beauty. Etiquette for the Modern Girl. Approaching Life with Confidence. Choosing the Colors that Look Best on You. Healthy Skin and Hair. Introduction to Make-up. Making the Most of the Clothes in Your Closet. And Social Responsibility – The Importance of Giving Back to Your Community.

Over $80,000 has been raised and donated to the J.L. Foundation through the 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011,  2012, 2013, and 2014 Kids Wanna Help Fashion Shows.
